What I did on Summer Vacation

Dovetail Antiques—Cashiers, N.C.

This store is a must see—every inch will inspire you. The owner, Sally Johannesen, is one of the most creative people you will ever meet. Your brain never stops imagining what you can do with her finds. Shutters, windows, architectural pieces—all used in unique ways. Furniture to die for. Fabrics, linens, pillows, jewelry—it is all here. Mannequins in custom fabrics—even real doves! Go visit, and tell her Lissy says, “Hi!”

Copper lanterns and Blue doors charm you inside

Owner, Sally and Friends

Custom Mannequins and killer Doors

Love the Patina—would go anywhere

Chairs, chairs and more chairs (have a thing for chairs)

My Favorite—Windows converted to Mirrors—used in a local showhouse

Love how Sally displays things—Ideas everywhere

Oh, she is also an Artist—love this Painting

I want that blue—how pretty! Of course it wouldn’t hurt to have the beautiful copper lanterns lighting the way, too!

I love the photo of the old chair with a rush seat. Do You know where I can get a new seat put in an antique chair???

Thank you for these pretty pictures. I will stop by the next time I’m in Cashiers…

  4. Stunning!! I have a very similar piece to the one in picture #4, slightly worrying. I must have that mirror. Naturally, Dovecote Decor has a natural affinity to Dovetail. Spread the word. We have a huge $500.00 giveaway on HGTV Freebie Friday this week. Lets talk soon, I’m CBJ’s friend.
